SMARTPROTECT is a thematic network focusing on cross regional knowledge sharing of SMART IPM solutions for farmers and advisors. The aim is to stimulate knowledge flow in the regional AKISs across the EU and connect these on the innovative potential of advanced methodologies for Integrated Pest Management (IPM) in vegetable production, integrating precision farming technologies and data analytics.

Once digitized, data are easily accessed and available for other research and educational use.
A Thematic Network should focus its activities on one or several of the following: research cooperation, knowledge sharing, joint education in a specific field. Generally speaking, a Thematic Network is a co-operation between departments of higher education institutions and other partners (e.g. academic organisations or professional bodies). Normally, all countries participating in the Socrates-Erasmus programmes (EU, EFTA and Candidate Countries) should be represented in a Thematic Network.
First, the thematic analysis position in qualitative research is addressed. Envisioned as a forum for exchange of up-to-date knowledge on the existing programmes, projects, methods and tools of gender mainstreaming, as well as presentation of good practices in the Member States, the Thematic Network brings together gender mainstreaming and gender equality practitioners and experts from the national gender equality machineries across the EU. All users registered in the Agora network are invited to actively participate in the Thematic Networks by attending webinars, by suggesting their own Joint Statement or by seeking endorsement of their Joint Statement.
